Employment Roundtable:
What To Do When Your Employees Can’t or Won’t Come To Work

Please join us on June 18, 2015 as we discuss leave and related laws and how to comply with them, including providing practical guidance for assessing and dealing with employees who are unable or unwilling to work, whether due to their own illness or disability, that of a family member, or for other reasons. Merry Campbell, Co-Chair of Shulman Rogers’ Employment Law Group and Maria Bremis, Senior HR Advisor with Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., will lead the discussion and focus on:

o The Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA)
o State leave laws, including
 District of Columbia FMLA
 District of Columbia Accrued Sick and Safe Leave Act
 Maryland Flexible Leave Act
o The Americans with Disabilities Act and similar state and local laws
o Absences caused by workers compensation injuries
o The interplay of these various laws
o Leave policies
o Things to consider when an employee is out of leave
